![]() Lori Waters was elected to the Board of Supervisors representing the Broad Run District in November 2003 and was re-elected in 2007. Despite a challenge within the Republican Party and a three-way general election, she successfully fought back both challenges and is now only one of two Republicans left on the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors. She is Chairman of the Board of Supervisors' Economic Development Committee and also serves on the Board's Finance, Government Service, and Operations Committee and on the Joint School-Board of Supervisors Capital Planning Subcommittee. She represents the Board on the Route 28 Transportation Improvement District Commission and the Metropolitan Washington Transportation Planning Board. From 1997 to 2004, Lori worked for a national pro-family, non-profit organization in Washington, D.C. For four of those years, she served as executive director advocating for federal legislation to reduce taxes, improve parental rights in education, curb judicial activism, and protect America's borders. She appeared on numerous television and radio programs and testified before several committees of the House of Representatives. A native of North Carolina, Lori graduated cum laude from Furman University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science. For over 15 years, Lori has been a citizen-activist involved campaigns and policy making at every level of government. Lori and her husband Matt were married in 2001 and lived in Ashburn Village before moving to Lansdowne in 2003. The Waters family attends worship services at Cornerstone Chapel in Leesburg. Lori and Matt are the proud parents of Leigh Anna and Tyler. Lori is dedicated to keeping Loudoun family-friendly.
