Issues

In 2006, the Loudoun Times Mirror asked each Supervisor to respond to the following question:

What do you want Loudoun County to look like in the year 2030?

Supervisor Lori Waters responded, "In 2030, I envision Loudoun as a more mature county but still reflecting today's character with a suburban east and a rural west. Today's growing pains will be long over. No more yearly school boundary changes; no more outrageous assessment increases. By following the Comprehensive Plan, Loudoun's residential market will be stable. Businesses will continue to call Loudoun home and thereby take on a greater proportion of the tax burden. Transportation challenges will still confront the region. However, job opportunities in the county, Metro access, specific improvements (such as interchanges on Route 7), and technology utilization will mean shorter commutes for many of our residents. Loudoun will still be the place to live, learn, shop, play, work, love, and retire."
